Welcome to the Second World, an afterlife where souls awaken at their physical prime of twenty-five. This realm is divided into three distinct domains: the Red Domain of samurai warriors, the White Domain of strategic tacticians, and the Blue Domain of pacifist healers. Beyond their borders lies the Void, a toxic wasteland filled with sentient, flesh-eating flora, where the discarded and the Unborn struggle to survive.

When a rogue faction known as the Messengers unleashes a brutal death game, the fragile balance of this world shatters. An unlikely trio rises to confront the chaos: Esperanza, a Seraphim healer; Theo, an exiled samurai prince; and Aurora, a fierce champion of the Unborn. Together, they must prove that even after death, humanity is still worth saving.

Characters

Raphael

A half-Korean, half-Japanese Healer who was burned alive during the First World War in 1942. He is a profoundly traumatized but immensely powerful Blood Forger who can instantly heal allies or crystallize his own blood into jagged cleavers. Aurora adopts him as her loyal page and Healer.

Esperanza

A tall, El Salvadorian former surgeon who serves as a Healer for the Blue Domain. Her soul manifests as nine majestic blue Seraphim wings with godlike mass-healing capabilities. She wields a unique camera charm to diagnose injuries and view memories, and a naginata staff that shreds dead skin to regenerate it. Her name translates to "hope".

Theo-black

The crowned prince and heir to the Red Domain's Aizu bloodline. He is an Unborn soul—aborted at four weeks—whose name means "gift of God". Bearing dark skin and long braided hair, he is a master swordsman who wields a katana and serves as his Domain's Powerhouse and Tactician.

Aurora

An Unborn soul conceived in rape in 1937, who died within hours of her birth and remained nameless until she met Theo. Standing at only 4'8" with curly black hair and almond eyes, she is a fierce fighter who sword-summons Chinese sabers forged from blood and metal. She rises to become the Champion of the Unborn and the Red Domain's new Powerhouse, famously battling in a pink plaid skirt, oversized sweater, and combat boots.

Red Thread The Second World Mechanics

Death is not the end; it is an awakening to the Second World, a realm where souls from the First World manifest at their physical prime to unlock their true potential. This afterlife is fractured, and survival depends on the glowing, physical manifestations of your soul, known as "threads," and the nation you align yourself with. Explore the three great nations of the Thea Tapestry Alliance and the treacherous wasteland that divides them. Where do you belong?

Red Domain

The Red Domain: Empire of Powerhouses:

An 1861 feudal Japanese territory frozen in time, boasting the military might of the Aizu samurai bloodline. Citizens glorify martial arts and honorable death, manifesting red soul threads into steel swords. In this militarized society, pure warrior bonds are revered, while traditional pairings are strictly disdained as "Breeder" behavior.

Blue Domain

The Blue Domain: Sanctuary of Healers:

A pacifist water city built on intellect, innovation, and progress, featuring the highest population of Healers. Defined by sunlit canals and limestone bridges, this domain disarms all weapons upon entry. Its crown jewel is the Library of Alexandria, gathering all First World knowledge.

The Void

The Void: Wasteland of the Unborn:

The brutal entry point for First World souls, filled with a toxic purple haze, feral beasts, and sentient flowers that devour the defeated. It is the treacherous home of the "Unborn" souls who died before birth and walk without threads. The land reacts to its inhabitants, morphing into a thorny prison of fear or a tame garden of hope.

White Domain

The White Domain: Stronghold of Tacticians:

An underground mountain hub for 20th-century veterans, mercenaries, and shinobi. Hidden behind toxic fog, the capital thrives in a roaring 1920s speakeasy rich with espresso, whiskey, and gunpowder. Trading magic for strategy, sniper rifles, and a free-market economy, it offers a hedonistic retirement from trench warfare.
